BIOGRAPHY

Hey all, my name is Harry and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.

I’ve been aspiring to kick off this entrepreneurial thing for years now. After several false starts I was able to get my first mobile app built in late 2012  (which you can check out here). But needless to say, it was no ‘Flappy Bird’. Which is OK, because electronic music is one of my passions, having been a DJ for 20+ years. One important takeaway is to work on things you’re passionate about, because it will definitely get you through the highs and lows.

Fast forward to early 2014, and via an ah-ha moment I experienced at New Media Expo, I had the desire to start up a podcast. Although it seemed a bit meta, and straight out of Being John Malkovich, I thought, “Hey, how about a podcast about my love of podcasts and people who are on the same page as me?” It seemed like an inspiring enough idea so I moved forward.

It’s been a whirlwind of activity and I’ve learned a ton. I continue to line up interviews and am putting together some great processes that are saving me a ton of time during the production stage. It’s the part that’s eating up the most time, so I’ve got to put my OCD hat on and see where I can work smarter.

Thanks for visiting and if there’s any questions you have about my journey or this page, or my process, feel free to comment below!

Some of the common questions Corey and Jessica get asked a lot are about podcast statistics and metrics. Do download statistics really matter? This is what our hosts touch on for this episode. They interview a wide range of guests to talk about their personal experiences with statistics and if it really matters at the end of the day what those numbers say.

Hi, this is Corey and Jessica. This week we’re bringing you the second conversation we recorded together while assembling The Podcast Producers series.

This week’s edition is rife with small talk in the spirit of two podcasters getting to know each other before jumping into the business at hand "Hobby vs Business" podcasting.

If this is your first listen, we recommend that you start at Episode 1 - Is There Anybody Out There? and work your way through the series.

Welcome back to the Podcast Producers; Raw and Uncut. This is Jessica and if this is your first listen, I want to encourage you to go back to episode 1 entitled “Is there anybody out there” and listen through the 10 episode series that Corey and I put together.

In this episode, we’re sharing with you my raw interview with Alisa DiLorenzo, co-host of the One Extraordinary Marriage podcast. I invited Alisa to join me for an interview because she and her husband and co-host, Tony, have a podcast where they share intimate details about their marriage and their sex lives in an effort to help couples all over the world strengthen their relationships.

Alisa and Tony are leaders in the podcast community when it comes to transparency, vulnerability and raw conversations about real issues that couples face.

I hope you enjoy this conversation I had with Alisa. To listen to her and Tony’s podcast, go to OneExtraordinaryMarriage.com.

There you have it; my conversation with Alisa DiLorenza, co-host of the One Extraordinary Marriage podcast. I just love how transparent Alisa and Tony are on their show and I think it’s something we as podcasters should all strive for: more vulnerabilities. After all, that’s the beautiful thing about this medium right? The connection we make with each other by sharing stories about our lives?

Corey and I want to thank you for your support of The Podcast Producers. We are excited to produce Season two and want to encourage you to reach out and let us know if there are any topics you want us to cover in season 2. You can find us on social media and at ThePodcastProducers.com.

Hi, this is Jessica Rhodes. Corey Coates and I created the ten episode audio series, The Podcast Producers to tell a story about the art and business of podcasting. If this is your first listen, I recommend going back and starting with episode 1, Is There Anybody Out There.

We interviewed 28 podcast producers and in this episode, you’re about to hear the raw and unedited conversation I had with Mary and Blake Larsen. Corey and I will be releasing all of the interviews we conducted for The Podcast Producers over the next several months because it’s our hope that with these full conversations, you’ll have an even deeper insight to the art and business of podcasting.

Thanks again for your support, to find the full series and more information about our guests, corey, and myself, visit ThePodcastProducers.com.

Mary and Blake run a business called Tom Mom Media; Mary is a blogger at TallMomTinyBaby.com, they co-host ParentCast, Outlander Cast and We are the living reminders. I am a personal huge fan of ParentCast; i highly recommend all parents of babies and toddlers listen, they’re absolutely hysterical.

Hi, this is Corey. I, along with Jessica Rhodes, created the audio series, The Podcast Producers. It is a ten-part audio program made to study what we considered to be some of the most compelling interpretations of what’s happening in the podcasting space, as told by our guests - The Podcast Producers.

If this is your first listen, I recommend you start at Episode 1, entitled Is There Anybody Out There, and work your way through the series.

What you are about to hear is the raw, unedited version of my interview with podcaster, blogger, and author David McRaney. Jessica and I are going to release these “behind the scenes” shows for you to get a look at the linear form conversations that took place ahead of editing and production the final program. There’s a lot of great insights and content that wound up on the cutting room floor, and it’s our hope that you can find even greater depth and value in this interviews in their pure state.

These are unpolished, raw, and real.

Thanks again for the support, and you can find out more at www.thepodcastproducers.com. And now, here’s my interview David McRaney.

David’s Bio:

I created the blog You Are Not So Smart. I did a lot of other things before that. I even owned two pet stores for a few years. Yes, pet stores. Don't do that, by the way.

My blog became an internationally bestselling book now available in 14 languages. It also became a podcast hosted at Boing Boing where I'm currently writing about psychology. My second book, You Are Now Less Dumb, was released in 2013. I'm working on a third book right now, probably while you are reading this.

I cut my teeth as a newspaper reporter covering Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast and in the Pine Belt region of the Deep South. Later, I covered things like who tests rockets for NASA, what it is like to run a halfway home for HIV-positive homeless men, and how a family sent their kids to college by making and selling knives.

Since then, I have been an editor, photographer, voiceover artist, television host, public speaker, and tornado survivor. I worked for several years as the head of digital media for WDAM-TV where I also produced The Green Couch Sessions, a TV show about the music of the Deep South. I've done some commercial work too. I've written for Heineken, Duck Tape, and a few others. I recently appeared in a Reebok ad that I also helped write.

I am married to Amanda McRaney, who is my favorite person, and I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

My cat's name is Simon.
